PSG was contracted to provide turnkey services to a leading global defense and technology company. PSG has been successfully completing projects for this client since 2009 including base buildings, office interiors and data centers.
We managed the reconfiguration of a warehouse building into a 25,000 square foot Tempest rated SCIF including a 1,500 square foot data center for approximately 225 employees.
PSG directly managed the contracts and activities of the construction, access control, and cabling contractors along with the client’s furniture vendor and design team.
One of the many challenges of this project was the fast-track design and construction required to meet the aggressive schedule. PSG took a usual 26-week assignment and compressed it into a 16-week schedule.
The project team was able to meet the 16-week schedule by pre-purchasing much of the mechanical equipment and working double shifts, weekends, and holidays to complete the space in record time.
The budget of $6M in construction costs included an upscale, unique design, high-end finishes, and complex mechanical and electrical systems including light fixtures, complex lighting control systems, 24 In Row Cooling Units, PDU, 13 RTU’s delivering over 85 tons of conditioned air, and 20,000 square feet of raised floor.
One of the greatest achievements was PSG’s ability to drive value to the project design by identifying over $600,000 worth of savings to the owner without compromising the look and feel of the space.
